Mission

At the UCC we are proud to suppoprt and take part in a good many mission oriented projects. The church is fortunate to have an endowment fund, the proceeds of which are used several times throughout the year for support of projects like Habitat for Humanity, Heifer Project International, Seeds of Hope, Operation Threshhold, Cedar Valley Aids Support, Cedar Valley Hospice, Backbay Mission, St. Louis Neighborhood Houses, lay ministry education and seminary scholarships, and many more. Our congregaqtion is also a UCC Five for Five church which means we take part in all of the UCC’s special offerings: Neighbors in Need, Christmas Fund, One Great Hour of Sharing, Strengthen the Church and Our Churches Wider Mission. We also house the local food pantry and and often serve at the House of Compassion in Marshalltown.
